I stepped into the advertising core right when they bid farewell to the manual era, leaving scissors to the crop tool in Freehand. Little did I know that now we can just prompt it and not only can we crop the unwanted bits, but we can fill it with wonders! Although some wonders came with 6 fingers and two left feet. And some of you might ask, what is Freehand anyway?
Now let’s move on from technology to the evolution of attention span. Remember the days when we presented the TVC storyboard it started with “The establishing shot will be…” Well, say bye-bye to that template as well. TikTok videos are known to slap the interesting bit in the beginning, to attract viewers to stay and then rewind it to the actual opening of the video. This is the time of let’s cut the crap and tell me your funny story (but you’d better be funny or else I’ll leave).
Ah, the joy of living through the years. You can see people are changing and so are you. In this line of work where we portray how society works, it has been a blast sitting on the dock of the bay while sometimes casually putting your feet in the water and making some splash.
So at this moment, how will Curious Colibri hover in the industry? Well, we were already little while everyone was bragging that they were giants, and we collaborated when people were not really keen on sharing. So, we will acknowledge change and try not to go all googly-eyed over technology but see how it can make a difference.
